Arpine Sargsyan is an Armenian jurist and politician who has served as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia since December 2024, becoming the first woman to hold this position in the country's history. A legal expert by training, she previously held roles within the Ministry of Justice, including Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. Her career has focused on criminal law, anti-corruption policy, and prison reform. As minister, she has spearheaded initiatives such as the 2025-2027 Strategy for Combating Drug Trafficking, the introduction of biometric ID cards, and the establishment of a Unified Strategy for Crime Prevention.
