Asta Vrečko

Asta Vrečko is a Slovenian politician and art historian currently serving as the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia since 2022. She became the coordinator of the political party The Left in 2023. Prior to her ministerial appointment, she worked as an assistant professor at the University of Ljubljana, specializing in 20th-century art history, and served as a city councilor in the Municipality of Ljubljana. Her political career is rooted in activism and the co-founding of the Initiative for Democratic Socialism.
