Ayanna Pressley

Ayanna Pressley is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Massachusetts's 7th congressional district since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party and the informal group known as 'The Squad,' she is recognized for her progressive advocacy on women's rights, criminal justice reform, and economic equity. Before her election to Congress, she served as an at-large member of the Boston City Council, where she was the first woman of color to hold that position. Her career has been defined by a focus on grassroots activism and addressing systemic inequalities in urban communities.
