Balvir Singh

Balvir Singh is an American politician and educator currently serving as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly for the 7th Legislative District, having assumed office in January 2025. Born in India and raised in Punjab, he immigrated to the United States at age 14. Before his election to the state legislature, Singh served on the Burlington County Board of County Commissioners from 2018 to 2025 and was a member of the Burlington Township Board of Education. He is recognized as the first Asian American to win a countywide election in Burlington County and the first Sikh American to win a countywide election in New Jersey. Throughout his career, he has focused on fiscal responsibility, school district budgeting, and local infrastructure concerns.
