Carrie Rheingans

Carrie Rheingans is an American politician serving as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives since 2023, representing the 47th district. A member of the Democratic Party, she was first elected in 2022 and reelected in 2024. During her tenure, she has focused on bipartisan legislation, including laws to protect students from expulsion, designate manoomin as Michigan's state native grain, and establish the Office of Tribal Legislative Liaison. Additionally, she has worked on child safety seat regulations and initiatives to address the opioid epidemic through the distribution of naloxone.
