Barbara Kuriger

Barbara Kuriger is a New Zealand politician who has served as the Deputy Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives since December 2023. A member of the National Party, she has represented the Taranaki-King Country electorate as a Member of Parliament since 2014. Before entering politics, Kuriger was a prominent dairy farmer and served on the boards of several agricultural organizations, including DairyNZ and the Dairy Women's Network. Throughout her parliamentary career, she has held various portfolios and committee chairmanships, focusing on agriculture, food safety, and rural communities.
