Barry Jones, Baron Jones, is a British Labour Party politician and a life peer in the House of Lords. He served as the Member of Parliament for East Flintshire from 1970 to 1983 and for Alyn and Deeside from 1983 to 2001. During his time in the House of Commons, he held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Wales and was a member of the Intelligence and Security Committee. Since his elevation to the peerage in 2001, he has remained active in public life, serving as Chancellor of Glyndŵr University and holding various honorary presidencies in regional business and youth organizations.
