Julie Elliott, Baroness Elliott of Whitburn Bay, is a British politician currently serving as a member of the House of Lords. Previously, she served as the Member of Parliament for Sunderland Central from 2010 to 2024. During her time in the House of Commons, she held roles as a shadow minister for the Department for Energy and Climate Change and served on several influential committees, including the Culture, Media and Sport Committee. A long-time Labour Party member, Elliott has been a vocal advocate for renewable energy, workers' rights, and local infrastructure improvements in Sunderland. She was appointed to the House of Lords in 2025 following her decision to stand down as an MP at the 2024 general election.
