Beat Jans

Beat Jans is a Swiss politician and environmental scientist who has served as a member of the Swiss Federal Council since January 1, 2024, currently holding the position of Head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police. Before his election to the federal government, he served as the president of the Executive Council of Basel-Stadt from 2021 to 2023 and was a member of the National Council of Switzerland from 2010 to 2020.
