Benjamin Magalong is a Filipino politician and retired police officer currently serving as the Mayor of Baguio since 2019. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished 38-year career in the Philippine National Police, where he rose to the rank of Police Deputy Director General and served as the chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group. He gained national prominence for leading the Board of Inquiry into the 2015 Mamasapano incident and for his advocacy against corruption within the police force. As mayor, he has focused on urban renewal, environmental revitalization, and government transparency, including the formation of the Mayors for Good Governance initiative.
