Bienvenido Mirando Abante Jr. is a Filipino politician and Bible-Baptist pastor currently serving as the representative of Manila's sixth district. First elected to the House of Representatives in 2004, he has held various leadership roles, including Minority Leader and Deputy Speaker. A conservative legislator, Abante is known for his advocacy against pornography and his opposition to same-sex unions and the SOGIE Equality Bill, often framing his political positions through his religious convictions. He also served as a Manila City Councilor and commissioner of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor earlier in his career.
