Benoist Apparu is a French politician and business executive who has served as the Mayor of Châlons-en-Champagne since 2014. Previously, he held several national government positions, including Secretary of State for Housing and Urban Planning and Minister Delegate for Housing under the presidency of Nicolas Sarkozy. A former member of the UMP and The Republicans, he served as a deputy for the Marne department from 2007 to 2017.
