Bert Stedman

Bert Stedman is an American politician serving as a member of the Alaska Senate since 2003. A fourth-generation Alaskan born in Anchorage, he spent his childhood in Petersburg and Sitka before being appointed to the state senate by Governor Frank Murkowski. Throughout his tenure, Stedman has represented various communities in Southeast Alaska and has held significant leadership roles, including serving as co-chair of the Senate Finance Committee. Known for his politically heterodox approach, he has historically opposed oil tax reforms under Republican governors and has advocated for fiscal conservatism in state budgeting.
