Betta Edu is a Nigerian medical doctor and politician who served as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation until her suspension in January 2024. A graduate of the University of Calabar and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, she previously held positions as the Cross River State Commissioner for Health and national women leader of the All Progressives Congress. Her career has included significant involvement in public health administration, youth advocacy, and gender inclusion initiatives, alongside subsequent high-profile investigations regarding financial administration within her ministry.
