Beverley Hughes, Baroness Hughes of Stretford, is a British politician and life peer who currently serves as a member of the House of Lords. Previously, she was the Member of Parliament for Stretford and Urmston from 1997 to 2010, during which time she held several ministerial positions, including Minister of State for Children, Young People and Families. Following her parliamentary career, she served as the Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester for Policing and Crime from 2017 until 2023. Before entering national politics, she was a probation officer and an academic at the University of Manchester, and served as the leader of Trafford Borough Council.
