Stephen Kinnock is a British politician serving as the Secretary of State for Wales and Member of Parliament for Aberafan Maesteg (formerly Aberavon). Born in Tredegar, Monmouthshire, as the son of prominent politicians Neil and Glenys Kinnock, he was educated at Drayton Manor High School, Queens' College, Cambridge, and the College of Europe in Bruges. Before entering Parliament in 2015, he worked for the European Parliament, the British Council, the World Economic Forum, and business consultancy Xyntéo. Within Parliament, he has held various shadow ministerial roles, including Shadow Immigration Minister and Minister of State for Care, before joining the cabinet in 2026.
