Bill Heffernan

William Heffernan III is an American politician serving as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 115th district since 2024. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished 28-year career as a firefighter with the West Haven Fire Department, where he reached the rank of Lieutenant and served as a first responder at Ground Zero following the September 11, 2001 attacks. In addition to his public service, he has worked as a consulting producer for the television series Tacoma FD. Heffernan won a special election in January 2024 to fill a vacancy and was subsequently re-elected in the 2024 general election.
