Biplab Mitra

Biplab Mitra is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing the Harirampur constituency. He also holds the position of Minister of Consumer Affairs in the Government of West Bengal. Throughout his political career, Mitra has been a prominent figure within the All India Trinamool Congress, though he briefly joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019 before returning to his original party in 2020. He has contested multiple state and national elections, including a 2024 bid for the Balurghat Lok Sabha seat.
