Steven Brett Guthrie is an American politician and businessman serving as the U.S. Representative for Kentucky's 2nd congressional district since 2009. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served in the Kentucky Senate from 1999 to 2008. Guthrie is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the Yale School of Management, and he formerly served as a field artillery officer in the 101st Airborne Division. In Congress, he has focused on economic and healthcare policy, including support for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and leadership on the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
