Carl Bjerke is an American politician and retired firefighter currently serving as a member of the Idaho Senate for the 5th district. Born in 1962 in Long Beach, California, Bjerke spent 32 years with the Santa Monica Fire Department, eventually retiring as the department's deputy chief of operations. After relocating to Kootenai County, Idaho, in 2016, he transitioned into education as a fire technology instructor at the College of Eastern Idaho. He was elected to the Idaho Senate in November 2022 and assumed office on December 1, 2022.
