Carlo Rubbia

Carlo Rubbia is an Italian physicist and a Senator for life of the Italian Republic. A Nobel laureate in Physics (1984) for his decisive contribution to the discovery of W and Z particles at CERN, he served as the Director-General of CERN from 1989 to 1994. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held academic positions at Harvard University and the University of Pavia, and led major research initiatives including the ENEA and the CRS4. He remains an active voice in scientific research, particularly in energy and climate policy.
