A member of the Party for Democracy (PPD), he previously served as the mayor of Huechuraba from 2012 to 2024 and as a municipal councillor from 2008 to 2012. Before his tenure in local government, he worked as a scientific attaché at the Chilean Embassy in Canada and held various academic positions in political communication. He is the grandson of the late Chilean Army Commander-in-Chief Carlos Prats.
