Carri Hicks

Carri Hicks is an American politician serving as a member of the Oklahoma Senate for the 40th district since 2018. Before entering politics, she worked as an elementary schoolteacher. Throughout her tenure, she has been an advocate for inclusive policies, notably serving as the sole dissenting vote against a 2024 Senate bill that would have allowed adoptive parents to bypass sexual orientation or gender identity policies based on religious beliefs, citing concerns for the welfare of vulnerable children.
