Catherine Ashton, Baroness Ashton of Upholland, is a British Labour politician and life peer who serves as a member of the House of Lords. She gained international prominence as the inaugural High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and First Vice President of the European Commission from 2009 to 2014. Throughout her career, she has held various ministerial roles in the UK government and played a pivotal role in mediating the 2013 Serbia-Kosovo agreement and the P5+1 nuclear negotiations with Iran. She currently serves as the Chancellor of the University of Warwick.
