Cheikh Tidiane Dieye

Cheikh Tidiane Dieye is a Senegalese academic, expert in sustainable development, and politician currently serving as the Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation. Born in Ziguinchor in 1972, he holds a doctorate in development studies from the University of Geneva. Before his ministerial appointment in 2024, he founded the African Center for Trade, Integration and Development (CACID) and served as a consultant for numerous international organizations, including the African Union and the WTO. A long-time advocate for good governance and the rule of law, he founded the political platform Avenir Senegaal Bi Nu Begg in 2015 and previously served as vice-president of the Ziguinchor departmental council.
