Abdourahmane Sarr

Abdourahmane Sarr is a Senegalese economist and politician currently serving as the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Cooperation of Senegal since April 2024. Before his ministerial appointment, he had a distinguished fifteen-year career at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he specialized in macroeconomic and financial issues. He is the founder of the think tank CEFDEL and the Movement for Renaissance, Freedom and Development (MRLD), through which he has advocated for local economic empowerment, decentralization, and financial inclusion. Sarr holds a doctorate in economics from George Washington University and a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University.
