Chhagan Bhujbal

Chhagan Bhujbal is an Indian politician from Maharashtra currently serving as a member of the 15th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly representing the Yevla constituency. A prominent leader from the Mali community, he has held several high-profile positions throughout his career, including Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Minister for Home Affairs and Public Works. Initially a member of the Shiv Sena, he later joined the Indian National Congress and subsequently the Nationalist Congress Party. Bhujbal is recognized for his vocal advocacy regarding Other Backward Class (OBC) rights and his opposition to the inclusion of the Maratha community within the OBC reservation quota, a stance that has frequently placed him at the center of state political discourse.
