Chris Cournoyer

Chris Cournoyer is an American politician serving as the 48th Lieutenant Governor of Iowa since December 2024. Before assuming her current role, she served as an Iowa State Senator from 2019 to 2024, where she held leadership positions including chair of the Education Budget Committee. A member of the Republican Party, she previously worked as a website designer and served as president of the Pleasant Valley Community School District School Board. Cournoyer is currently a candidate for Iowa State Auditor in the 2026 election.
