Christian Baptiste is a French politician serving as a member of the National Assembly for Guadeloupe's 2nd constituency. Born in Pointe-à-Pitre in 1962, he previously served as the mayor of Sainte-Anne from 2014 to 2022. He gained national attention in 2022 when he defeated the incumbent Secretary of State for the Sea, Justine Benin, to win his parliamentary seat. Baptiste was subsequently re-elected to the National Assembly in 2024 following the dissolution of the legislature.
