Christine Crawley, Baroness Crawley is a British politician and a life peer in the House of Lords. Educated at Notre Dame High School and the University of Roehampton, she began her career as a teacher and youth theatre director. She served as a District Councillor in South Oxfordshire and later as a Member of the European Parliament for Birmingham East from 1984 to 1999, where she chaired the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality. Created a life peer in 1998, she served as a Labour Party Whip in the House of Lords between 2002 and 2008 and remains an active member of the chamber.
