Christoph Degen is a German politician and current State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry for Science and Research, Art and Culture, a position he has held since January 2024. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), he previously served as a member of the Landtag of Hesse for several terms between 2008 and 2024. During his political career, Degen also served as the General Secretary of the SPD in Hesse from 2019 to 2024 and has been active in local government in the Main-Kinzig district. Before entering full-time politics, he worked as a special education teacher.
