Christos Staikouras is a Greek economist and politician currently serving as a Member of the Hellenic Parliament for Phthiotis. Born in 1973, he holds an extensive academic background in mechanical engineering and finance, having earned degrees from the National Technical University of Athens, Imperial College London, and City University London. Before his political career, he worked as an analyst for the Bank of England and Eurobank Ergasias, and served as a professor of finance. He previously held the position of Minister for Finance from 2019 to 2023, during which he oversaw significant tax reforms and economic policy initiatives.
