Chuck Payne

Chuck Payne is an American politician serving as a member of the Georgia State Senate for the 54th district since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, he has held various leadership roles within the Senate, including vice chairmanship of the State and Local Governmental Operations Committee. Prior to his legislative career, Payne served in the U.S. Army and the 82nd Airborne Division, followed by a 30-year career with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. In 2025, he faced formal censure from local Republican party organizations regarding his legislative voting record.
