Claire Hughes is a Welsh Labour politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Bangor Aberconwy since 2024. Before entering national politics, she held roles in the private sector as a head of growth for software and workspace companies and worked in digital communications for the Labour Party. In 2026, she was appointed as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Wales. In October 2025, Hughes announced a breast cancer diagnosis and subsequently stepped back from her government ministerial duties to undergo treatment.
