Clara Marques Mendes is a Portuguese lawyer and politician currently serving as the Secretary of State for Social Action and Inclusion. A member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), she was first elected to the Assembly of the Republic in 2011 representing the Braga district and has been re-elected in every subsequent legislative election. Before her national political career, she practiced law in Fafe and served as a deputy in the municipal assembly of Fafe from 2013 to 2020. Throughout her parliamentary tenure, she has focused on labor, social security, and economic recovery initiatives.
