Claudia Chender is a Canadian politician and lawyer serving as the leader of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party and the leader of the Opposition in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. First elected to represent the district of Dartmouth South in 2017, she has been a prominent advocate for social policy, including the declaration of domestic violence as an epidemic in the province. Before entering politics, Chender worked as a legal educator and in non-profit media. She holds a bachelor of arts from Dalhousie University and a bachelor of laws from the University of Victoria.
