Alexandra Mendès

Alexandra Mendès is a Canadian politician currently serving as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Brossard—Saint-Lambert. Born in Portugal, she immigrated to Canada in 1978 and has held various roles within the Liberal Party, including serving as President of the party's Quebec wing. First elected to the House of Commons in 2008, she has since served multiple terms and was appointed Assistant Deputy Speaker in 2019. Throughout her career, she has focused on immigrant settlement and parliamentary procedure, and she continues to represent her constituents while undergoing medical treatment.
