Corine Mauch is a Swiss politician who served as the Mayor of Zurich from 2009 to 2026. As the first female and first openly lesbian person to hold the office, she played a significant role in local governance and urban development. Before her tenure as mayor, she served on the Zurich city council for ten years and worked in various capacities, including as an environmental consultant and researcher. Mauch, who was born in the United States and later renounced her American citizenship, is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland.
