D. K. Aruna is an Indian politician from Telangana currently serving as a Member of the Lok Sabha for the Mahabubnagar constituency. Born in 1960, she has a long-standing career in regional politics, having previously served as a minister in the Andhra Pradesh government and as a member of the Legislative Assembly for the Gadwal constituency. Initially associated with the Samajwadi Party and later the Indian National Congress, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019 and was appointed as its National Vice President in 2020. Throughout her career, she has been a vocal advocate for irrigation and water rights for farmers in the Mahabubnagar district, frequently leading public agitations and hunger strikes to highlight regional development issues.
