Dagmar Schmidt

Dagmar Schmidt is a German politician who has served as a member of the Bundestag since 2013, representing the Lahn-Dill district. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), she is a prominent figure within the party's left-wing faction, the Parlamentarische Linke, and has served as a deputy chair of the SPD parliamentary group since 2021. Schmidt is known for her advocacy on social policy, particularly regarding the 'Kindergrundsicherung' (child basic security) initiative and the rights of parents regarding prenatal diagnostics. Before her parliamentary career, she worked as an assistant to Hessian state politicians and studied history at the University of Gießen.
