Darcy Byrne is an Australian politician currently serving as the Mayor of the Inner West Council in New South Wales, a position he has held since December 2021. A member of the Labor Party, he previously served as Mayor of the Municipality of Leichhardt and as the first mayor of the amalgamated Inner West Council starting in 2017. In November 2025, he was elected president of Local Government NSW. Throughout his career, Byrne has focused on urban development, housing affordability, and local community advocacy, including his support for the Fairer Future Plan to increase high-density housing in the region.
