David Linden is a Scottish politician serving as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Glasgow Baillieston and Shettleston since May 2026. Previously, he served as the Member of Parliament for Glasgow East from 2017 to 2024, where he held roles as the SNP spokesperson for Work and Pensions and for Housing, Communities and Local Government. A long-time advocate for Scottish independence, Linden began his career in local government and parliamentary research before his election to Westminster. Following his departure from the House of Commons, he worked in public affairs and management consultancy before returning to elected office in the Scottish Parliament.
