David Stoop

David Stoop is a German politician and a member of the Hamburg Parliament (Hamburgische Bürgerschaft). Born in 1983 in Engelskirchen, he studied social sciences, English, German, and pedagogy in Cologne and Durham. Before his political career, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Cologne and in youth education for the DGB-Jugend. A member of The Left (Die Linke) since 2007, he served as the party's state spokesperson in Hamburg from 2017 to 2020. He was first elected to the Hamburg Parliament in 2020 and currently serves as the co-chair of the Left parliamentary group.
