David Tangipa

David Tangipa is an American politician and businessman serving as a member of the California State Assembly for the 8th district. Born and raised in Sacramento, he played college football as a tight end for the Fresno State Bulldogs and holds a Bachelor of Science in political science and criminology, as well as an MBA. Before his election in 2024, he worked as a field representative for Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig. In office, Tangipa has focused on infrastructure and fiscal oversight, notably authoring legislation to require detailed funding plans for the California High-Speed Rail project.
