Deirdre Costigan

Deirdre Costigan is a British politician and trade unionist serving as the Member of Parliament for Ealing Southall since 2024. Born in Dublin, Ireland, she moved to London in the 1990s and previously worked as a shop steward for the trade union Unison, where she served as the national officer for disability equality. Before her election to the House of Commons, she was a Labour councillor for the Northolt Mandeville ward and served as deputy leader of the Ealing London Borough Council. In 2025, she was appointed assistant government whip, and in May 2026, she became a junior lord of the treasury.
