Dame Siobhain McDonagh is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Mitcham and Morden since 1997. Born in 1960, she previously served as a councillor for the London Borough of Merton and worked in housing and social services. During her parliamentary career, she has held roles including Parliamentary Private Secretary and Assistant Whip, though she was dismissed from the latter in 2008 after calling for a leadership contest. A Roman Catholic of Irish descent, she was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2024 for her political and parliamentary service.
