Denise Mentzer is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 61st district since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, she was first elected in 2022 and subsequently reelected in 2024. In 2025, Mentzer gained attention for breaking with her party to support a resolution advocating for the enforcement of a federal ban on transgender girls participating in women's sports within the state of Michigan.
