
Derya Bakbak

Derya Bakbak is a Turkish politician and academic currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey representing Gaziantep. An architect and civil engineer by training, she holds a doctorate in civil engineering with a focus on movable structures. Before her parliamentary career, she served as an assistant professor and head of the architecture department at Hasan Kalyoncu University. Bakbak has held various leadership roles within the Justice and Development Party, including positions in the Central Executive Committee and the Women's Branch. Throughout her legislative tenure, she has been active in committees concerning public works, reconstruction, transportation, and research on violence against women.
