Dharmendra Pradhan is an Indian politician representing the Sambalpur constituency in the Lok Sabha as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as India's 9th Minister of Education from 2021 until his resignation on 25 July 2026, which followed sustained student protests over the leak of the NEET (UG) medical entrance examination. Earlier in his career he held several Union cabinet portfolios, including Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (2014-2021), Minister of Steel (2019-2021), and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (2017-2024). He has also served as a Rajya Sabha member representing Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
