As of 2025, she serves as the chairperson of the Assembly Standing Committee on Energy and is a member of the Committee on Environmental Conservation. Beyond her legislative work, Barrett has held leadership roles in various community and non-profit organizations, including the North East Dutchess Fund and the American Folk Art Museum.
